Principal

A.J. is CEO and co-founder of Selequity, a consulting and technology company that assists businesses in finding solutions for long-term growth with multi-disciplinary approaches to business problems.

 

Prior to founding Selequity, A.J. was a partner in the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale.  As a lawyer, A.J. focused on helping companies grow through strategic changes, such as, entry into new markets or acquisitions in the U.S and abroad.  As head of Armstrong’s international and China practices, A.J. worked with companies in a wide variety of businesses to manage complex transactions, merger integrations and overseas expansions.  

 

A.J. brings a unique perspective to companies in the real estate services, construction and design industries.   With a background in architecture, A.J. focused much of his legal practice on these industries, for instance, he helped lead the acquisition strategy to create the largest privately held real estate services company in the U.S. and, as the founder of Selequity, helped create software to serve the needs of commercial real estate investors and sponsors.

 

In addition to his consulting and technology work, A.J. is a Professor of Practice at Saint Louis University School of Law where he teaches courses on the business and practical aspects of providing legal services in law firm and in-house settings.

BILL FLORENT

Principal

Bill is a co-founder of Selequity, a consulting and technology company that assists businesses in finding solutions for long-term growth with multi-disciplinary approaches to business problems.

Prior to Selequity, Bill served on Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Cassidy Turley for 14 years. During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Cassidy Turley, the firm grew from a small regional firm into the largest privately owned commercial real estate firm in the US. The firm was sold to private equity in 2014 upon reaching $750 million in revenues in 60 offices. As CFO, he was responsible for its acquisitions and growth strategies and led key areas including finance, accounting, IT and investor relations.

Bill brings a financial and operations perspective to his clients. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in setting the strategic and operational direction of service-oriented growth companies. He has successfully executed growth plans, scaled the business accordingly, while being sensitive to the culture required to be a successful enterprise.

In addition to his consulting practice, he shares his expertise with many non-profit organizations in the St. Louis area. He currently serves as Board Chair for Lafayette Industries, the largest full-time employer of adults with developmental disabilities in Missouri, as well as, being an active Board member for Easterseals Midwest and Miriam Foundation.

Principal

BETSY LUEG

Digital Strategy & Communication

Betsy’s career spans 25 years, including marketing technology training services and managing the digital offerings for two of the nation’s largest retail investment brokerages. In addition, Betsy helped launch a content platform to provide individuals both education and guidance while navigating a complex heath care system.

 

In all of her projects, Betsy focuses on a customer-centric experience. Her passion as a user advocate lays the foundation for delivering quality digital solutions. With a knack for the finer points, Betsy eagerly rolls up her sleeves to dive into the execution, ensuring the outcome matches – and exceeds – the vision.

 

Betsy’s experience includes coordinating and working side-by-side with creative agencies and technology service providers to find and implement the right solution to meet client needs.
